We believe in investing in the future of our community and in the electricity distribution sector. We are excited to introduce the Network Tasman Scholarship, an opportunity for aspiring students to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact in the electricity industry. The scholarship is offered to students studying electrical engineering either at degree or diploma level.
Eligibility and Funding
The scholarship is available to students in the second or subsequent year of study who are pursuing a degree or diploma in electrical engineering. Applicants must either live in, or have completed their secondary school education in, the Nelson/Tasman region.
The scholarship is for up to $10,000 towards your course fees for a year, and we may offer successful candidates semester holiday work and potential postgraduate work placement with Network Tasman.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for the Network Tasman Scholarship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Candidates are required to be New Zealand citizens or have legal permanent residency (evidence required).
Candidates are required to live in the Nelson/Tasman region or have attended a secondary school in the Nelson/Tasman region.
Candidates are required to provide evidence of acceptance into the second or subsequent year of the approved degree or diploma program they will be studying.
The degree or diploma pursued is required to be energy-related, aligning with the electricity distribution sector.
Scholarship recipients are required to provide evidence of their academic results for the year of the scholarship, ensuring accountability for the support received.
As part of the scholarship, candidates may be offered semester holiday work, and potential postgraduate work placement with Network Tasman.
Scholarship recipients may be required to supply photographs and other information for promotional purposes and to foster transparency and visibility.
All scholarship payments will be made directly to the successful applicant upon evidence of an invoice for their coming years tuition fees.
All shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by at least two representatives of Network Tasman.
Students must inform Network Tasman if they have any other scholarships at the time of application.
Network Tasman reserves the right to cease the scholarship, subject to valid reasons and due process.
